Field Trips at Children’s Hands-On Museum are AWESOME!
Our COMMON CORE STANDARDS and ALABAMA COURSE of STUDY Curriculum Based Field Trips are the most exciting in the state! Now in our 38th year, CHOM has long had close ties to education. We continue to create and develop the most innovative field trips that your students will ever have a chance to experience. Our field trips are revised annually to ensure that all remain exciting and have AL C.O.S. and Common Core Correlations. Highly qualified educators hands-on exhibits, a separate field trip classroom level and a large demonstration area mean students participate in true hands-on learning experiences not available in a traditional classroom setting! Design your own Exhibit Experience by choosing up to five of CHOM’s permanent exhibits for exploration with guidance by our fabulous educators. Pre-K visits are scheduled for Fridays. K-5th grade visits are scheduled for Monday through Thursday. Focused Field Trips: Pre-K CHOM provides hands-on excitement and unforgettable learning opportunities developed especially for the Pre-K age group. Focused Field Trips are available Fridays at 9:15 and 10:45. Program topics include the arts, social studies and sciences. Each Pre-K program lasts 1 hour. Focused Field Trips: K – 5th CHOM provides unique and exciting hands-on learning for this age group. Focused Field Trips are curriculum-based programs in the arts, social studies, sciences, and technology. Focused Field Trips correspond directly to the Alabama Course of Study, with correlations to the Stanford Achievement Test and Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative (AMSTI). DYNAMIC Demonstrations! 3rd – 5th Dynamic Demonstrations correspond directly to the Alabama Course of Study, with correlations to the Stanford Achievement Test and Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative. Perfect for either small or large groups, these demonstrations offer the ultimate in learning excitement for these grades. An interactive Circuit Board, Van de Graff generators, human “batteries”, solar energy and chemical or physical reactions make science, and electricity POP! Each program lasts one hour. |
